Présentation Who Is Mamalucy? Format Broché

Résumé :
This raw and thought-provoking short memoir centers around Ethel Smiter's life as the victim of domestic violence and her determination to survive. Domestic violence is not the victim's fault. It can happen to anyone, but no one on earth should be abused. Ethel endured a fourteen-year struggle for freedom while fostering her need to build self-esteem. Her memoir is about the life of a victim trying to find herself in the midst of tragic events, trying to create an identity that would present a positive reflection. Ethel's determination and fight to get her life back transformed her past terrible circumstances from intimidation to motivation. Her dedication to rise above the odds, even when her back was up against the wall, shows a strong character of being more than a conqueror. Her goal was the certain knowledge that she ?can accomplish any possible task that comes her way. Her vision of success is for this heartfelt memoir to help others fight the same struggle and to achieve victory.
Biographie:
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and inspired by the American screenwriter, film director, producer, actor, and professor Spike Lee, Ethel Smiter began her own creative journey to healing. Her determination to rise above the odds led her to return to school and obtain her high school diploma at the age of 50, an inspiring realization that it's never too late to go after your dreams. Ethel enjoys jazz dance, volunteering, and writing. Ethel loves chocolate with mint in it and chocolate covered cashews. Her favorite ice cream is black walnut from Baskin Robbins, her favorite cake is German chocolate, pineapple is her favorite fruit, and collard greens with turkey tails is her favorite dish. She loves to hear the sound of kids laughing because it gives her hope that everything is going to be all right. Her favorite color is black because it dictates boldness and power. She won a trophy years ago for jazz dancing. She loves high heel shoes but she's a T-shirt, flip flops, and jeans kind of girl. She is very loyal, and her loyalty has caused her heart a lot of pain. She will walk to the ends of the earth for those she loves. And last but not least, Ethel is a queen who is fearfully and wonderfully made by God almighty.
