The Earned Schedule Application Handbook is intended for project managers, engineers, and performance analysts who use Earned Value Management (EVM) with Earned Schedule (ES) for the purpose of project control. ES is an integral component of EVM providing the capability of time-based management and control of schedule performance. ES is included in the Project Management Institute publication, The Standard for Earned Value Management, and notably, in the International Standards Organization publication, ISO 21508:2018, Earned Value Management in Project and Programme Management. The Earned Schedule Application Handbook is intended to promote interest in the use of the advanced Earned Schedule (ES) analysis methods. Advanced topics include: statistical forecasting, prediction analysis, schedule adherence, rework, project interruption, project recovery, and milestone management. Each section of The Earned Schedule Application Handbook simplifies the various methods, connecting the project performance data to the freely available calculation aids and then to the subsequent presentation for analysis and decision making. The use of the ES advanced methods provides significantly greater insight to the control of the project schedule. Biographie:
Walt Lipke retired from federal service with over thirty-five years of experience in the development, maintenance, and management of software for automated testing of avionics. Mr. Lipke is a graduate of the United States Department of Defense course for program managers, a professional engineer with a master's degree in physics, and a member of the physics honor society, Sigma Pi Sigma.As the creator of Earned Schedule (ES), Mr. Lipke has published over ninety articles on the method, as well as the Earned Schedule and Earned Schedule Plus books. To further propagate the ES method, he offers the free Earned Schedule Master Class. Additionally, he has presented research on ES and its schedule performance analysis methods at conferences worldwide.For his contributions to project control, the practice of Earned Value Management (EVM), and the creation of ES, Mr. Lipke has received several awards: 2007 Project Management Institute Metrics Specific Interest Group Scholar Award 2007 Project Management Institute Eric Jenett Award for Project Management Excellence 2013 Earned Value Management Europe Award 2014 College of Performance Management Driessnack Distinguished Service AwardIn 2017, the Australian Project Governance and Control Symposium honored Mr. Lipke by establishing the annual Walt Lipke Project Governance and Control Excellence Award.
