Présentation One Unforgettable Year de Aaron McDougall Format Broché
- Livre Littérature Générale
Résumé : It's a two-fold love story that is woven around Colonial American history and the 21st century. The main character, Jim Arnot, is a computer programmer specialist who works for a company in the state of Maine. After running into some troublesome health issues, he decides to go on vacation for a few days in the city of Salem, Massachusetts. There, an unexpected heart attack nearly costs him his life, and when he comes around from a bad dream where he thinks he has traveled back in time to the Salem witch trials of 1692, he realizes the woman he fell in love with (Leila) was nothing more than the figment of his imagination so he turns his attention to Dee Ann Nicewell, the nurse who saves his life. Then, after being smitten by her stunning beauty and irresistible charm, the main character of the story (Jim Arnot) experiences one of the most memorable years of his life until tragedy strikes. Sadly, an automobile accident claims the life of the woman he loves, and when that happens, Jim turns to her sister in his time of grief. From there, a deep everlasting bond develops between them, and long before either one of them realizes it, the beginning of a brand-new chapter in their lives has begun. The author - Aaron McDougall was born in a small town in north central Maine in the shadow of Mount Katahdin and the natural beauty of Baxter State Park. Over the years, he has come to enjoy listening to music, fishing, hiking, stamp collecting, reading, and adventure, wherever life had the good fortune to take him. Once an active postal worker, he spent many a day working as a city letter carrier, a retail sales clerk, and also as a mail handler. Now retired, most of his time is spent on writing novels these days. If that isn't happening, he's more than likely just sitting back in his easy chair, enjoying his time watching television or reading a good book. It also goes without saying, he really and truly loves nature and the pristine beauty of the north Maine woods much the same way Henry David Thoreau did in the 19th century.
