L. A. Feliz is a Spanish teacher and the author of the You Can Speak Spanish! series.Her books focus on both spoken and written language, teaching students to read and speak Spanish proficiently. Feliz has been studying Spanish for 25 years and teaching the language for over 20. She has taught both adults and children in private language classes and also delivered dual language instruction to elementary school students.As a language expert, Feliz is fluent in five other languages and uses her experiences to inform her teaching. She was once a beginner in every language she speaks and has a deep understanding of what is required to cement linguistic understanding and improve fluency. She is keenly aware of what skills allow learners to progress in their understanding of a language and how they can transfer those skills to any new language they wish to learn. Her passion for Spanish is second only to her love of teaching it, and she uses her students' experiences to shape her methodology.Feliz also loves Latin music and dancing, and enjoys singing and dancing with her children. She has made a few trips to Spain but hopes eventually to explore the whole country. She has also made several trips to Argentina, and in both cases, her favorite approach is to stay with local families so she can truly absorb the culture and get to know the country from the point of view of a native speaker.
