It is 1962 and Amanda is looking for something to liven up her life and is intrigued about a story in the Telegraph about a jewel thief. Half daydreaming she imagines what he would look like. Then almost at the same moment who should knock on her door but the very person she has just pictured in her mind's eye. Julian has called hoping to engineer an invite to tonight's do, but Amanda realises who he is straight away. Amanda and Julian are immediately attracted to each other but after a series of events that test Julian he is wrongly accused of theft, just when he was expecting a promised night of passion. It's touch and go but with the help of his new friends and the truth of his parentage will Julian get the hand of the fair maiden? Sponsored by www.thecompleteweddingdirectory.co.uk

      Biographie:
Peter Gatenby is not yet known as an imaginative author, but more as the man who has walked everywhere, having walked from his front door to the furthest points - east, west, south, and north of the British mainland, known as the Extremities in 2012/13. Then five years later to the Sharp Corners, - that is to the furthest southwest, southeast, northeast, and northwest. The story of these epic treks will appear under the title The Three Blue Plaques. Peter's first short story to be published was Married by Lunchtime - a light-hearted romance. La Nuit a Therouanne, is another book of fiction about the struggle to bring to justice a rapist and murderer. However, a third book is based on real family history, starting in 1910 about the writer's great-aunts who go to Singapore in 1925. It is so long it is being structured as six Episodes, under the collective banner of The Farrells of Banchory House.

      Sommaire:
The first short story written and published by Peter Gatenby, in 2023 Married by Lunchtime is a light-hearted romance with a few unusual twists and turns. The next volume, La Nuit a Therouanne, is another book of fiction, about the struggle to bring to justice a rapist and murderer. Both these stories are fictional, but cleverly keep the reader wondering until the last few pages how the issues raised will be resolved. The third St Columba's seat and a Touch of Serendipity was written with the aim of having a story that had happy events. There are good, kind intelligent, children out there, so let's celebrate when dreams come true. Soon Peter hopes to be publishing the story of his great aunts who went to Singapore on Friday 13th February 1925. This family history took nearly 10 years of research. Based on just one album of pictures taken in 1925/6 and an anecdote told by Peter's mother, the story weaves in background historical events in the early to mid-20th Century. It also tries to uncover the truth of the story of unrequited love. His final volumes will be about his long-distance walks first to the extremities of the British mainland and subsequent treks to the inter-cardinal points. For further background to what this eighty-one-year-old has been up to, when not writing, keeping tabs on his eight grand-children, being a churchwarden, or walking with two Ramblers Groups, go to his website at www.petergatenby.co.uk...
