Biographie:
Bibhuti Pattanaik (born October 25, 1937) is one of the most celebrated writers of Odia literature. Though he is primarily known for his popular novels and short story collections, he has contributed to all genres of literature. He has published over 150 books including the popular novels Chapalachhanda, Dagdha Phulabana, Hey Bandhu Bidaya, Kesabati Kanya, Nayikara Nama Srabani, Rani Mahumachhi. His awards include 1985 Odisha Sahitya Akademi award for the novel Aswamdedhara Ghoda, 2015 Central Sahitya Akademi award for the short story collection Mahisashurara Muhan and Odisha Sahitya Academy's highest award, Atibadi Jagannath Das Samman for 2016. Before retiring as a Reader he has taught Odia language and literature in various colleges of Odisha.
