This work shares a contemplative journey with an imagined spirit being. The author wrestles with issues in his spiritual life: how to love, how to integrate one's body, how to face failure, and how to finish his life's work. Often it is a crisis that brings answers to these questions and the motivation for doing what is necessary to fulfill them. While writing this, the author is informed of the impending death of his brother. This work, completed after the death, proves to the spiritual dynamic that releases his brother's and the author's creativity into the world....
Biographie:
Michael Susko, who has an M.S in Counseling Psychology, has been active for several years in advocacy for re-envisioning mental health care. Attending conferences and workshops, he has presented on the meaning of symbolic experiences and modes of healing which would be effective. In 1991 he edited Cry of the Invisible, a collection of oral histories of persons who were psychiatrically labeled. For years he chaired and served on the board for Maryland Disability Rights, to help insure the rights of persons with disabilities....
Sommaire:
With an interest in interdisciplinary studies, the author majored in Philosophy and obtained a Masters in Counseling Psychology. He has taught college courses, including Archetypes in History, the History of Madness in Western Civilization, and Symbolism of Indigenous Cultures. In reading history over his lifetime, a generational scale has proven to be highly useful, and he wishes to share this work to make history accessible to all....
