With forty years in Christian ministry, thirty years as an educator, and twenty-five years as a businessman, Clyde's fifty-three years of life were action-packed. He pastored four different churches, taught in public schools, and became a full professor at a state university, all while being a successful businessman. How, you may wonder? Ernstena was inspired to share Clyde's story when her son-in-law Rick Webb, of the Rick Webb Family Singers, challenged her to write a book about Clyde, his wife Phyllis's daddy.
