Résumé :
Why did they fight? Why did they fight so well? What became of this fine Regiment? This study of the Rhodesian African Rifles, with its origins and history in WW1, WW2 and the Malayan Emergency and culminating in the 'Bush War', addresses these questions and others. Stemming from a US Army Staff College project designed to examine the role of indigenous forces in modern wars, this book brings that study to life through enquiring into the culture and values of this once fine and loyal Regiment, at a time during which the trajectory of political and military forces in play were acting against it.
Biographie:
Colonel Michael P. Stewart is a career artillery officer in the US Army. Born at West Point, New York, he was commissioned from The Citadel, South Carolina in 1998. He has served all over the world with the US Army, and is currently Chief of Fires for US Forces in Korea. His award-winning thesis on the Rhodesian African Rifles was submitted for a Master's Degree in Military Art and Science at the US Army Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas in 2011. He is married to Jennifer, and they have two children.
