17.5 Million steps walked - to raise funds and awareness of this dreadful illness. Vic Heaney's first wife Gaile was a victim of pancreatic cancer. There are many physical challenges, not least an eye condition which means he can not read maps and has difficulty walking on uneven ground. Some weeks his total climbs would have seen him conquer Everest. Many characters are met on the way.
