Résumé :
Why do young men grab a gun and go murder people they don't even know? This book, though a work of fiction, provides the one prevailing answer among many. There is no single answer-certainly none that can be termed satisfying. It is no wonder people want to ban guns, but that is not a possible solution. In this book, Author William Cory makes the well-supported argument that antidepressant prescription medications are one major cause of such tragedies. SSRI drugs figure in almost all mass shootings. The research is definite. We have seen too many shoottings, from Adam Lanza in Newtown, to the most recent, in Uvalde, Texas. If you want to learn why practically every person who goes on a killing rampage has been under care for his mental health, then read this book. This is not the only volume that tells the story: some people who are given SSRI drugs (not all, thankfully, since 1 in 10 people worldwide take them) are driven to commit horrible acts of violence. The story in this book is fiction, but the facts presented about psychopharmacological, or psychoactive, drugs. are all real, true, and well documented. There is a notes/footnotes addendum, and a complete bibliography of over fifty books read during research for this book. You can also read the author's substack writings at: pushingupstream.substack.com. The reviewers call this a gripping story, and it is. But the true gripping story is about the way Big Pharma uses the public to test and profit from their drugs. We've recently gone through it and are still doing so with the claims of efficacy by certain companies about their vaccines, claiming over 90% effectiveness when their own tests (according to internal documents just released) admit 12% effectiveness that wanes after several weeks. Don't be fooled. Pharmaceutical compaanies use every marketing trick in the book, plus huge amounts of money paid to politicians and government health officials, to hide the truth and to push their products. We, the People, are their guinea pigs.
Biographie:
William Cory has always loved children. When the Sandy Hook School was attacked in December, 2012, by a 22-year-old man, with no clear reason, Mr. Cory had to begin investigating. A writer and researcher all his life, since working for the American Automobile Association in Los Angeles and creating guidebooks to Baja California, the Sierra Nevada, the Pacific Coast, he has always known he wanted to do something important with his writing. With this book, he has fulfilled that desire. There truly is a health problem in the United States and other Western countries, and not enough people are talking about it. Read this book to be entertained, and you certainly will be. You'll also learn true facts about a health care problem that should not be ignored. William Cory, who goes by Bill, has an enjoyable daily duty as a crossing guard at a local elementary school. He is a husband, father and grandfather. This novel, his second, follows Neighbors, completed two years ago. He is beginning work on another gripping story that potentially concerns all who live in America.
