Biographie:
From a low-income neighborhood in the Windy City, a.k.a. City of Broad Shoulders and Deep-Dish Pizza, Southsider Shelton Banks is a certified DEI consultant, Gallup Strengths Coach, and cofounder of Sales for the Culture. With lessons he learned from years of experience in different jobs, he leveraged transferrable skills to navigate from entry-level roles to vice president positions, becoming the first in his family to ever make over six figures-and all this before being hired in 2018 as CEO of re:work training, a nonprofit, 501(c)(3), workforce development organization. Shelton has helped empower hundreds of Black and Brown people of color who were overlooked or told that they weren't qualified to secure employment in technology sales, one of tech's best-kept secrets. On average, he helps individuals, often without a college degree or traditional experience, earn a base salary of dollars55,000 plus benefits by helping them identify their strengths and remove barriers.
