      • Résumé :
The government confirmed the story. And then they told us to make it look fake. The author and operative turned this on its head. In 1979, an eighteen-year-old American boy was recruited into the U.S. Air Force Scout program, trained to kill through systematic psychological conditioning, and deployed into classified CIA proxy wars across Central America and the Middle East. Over two and a half years, Rubicon executed 18 combat assignments across 14 unacknowledged operations. He directed AC-130H gunship strikes that slaughtered thousands. He killed more than 300 human beings with his own hands. When his conscience finally shattered and he refused to kill further, the military stripped him of his medals-including the Air Force Cross and two Silver Stars-falsified his discharge papers with the code APATHY, and threw him away. Forty years later, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) verified his account. They offered a path to publication on one condition: the truth had to appear to be fictional. X Rubicon: Crossing Life, Sex, Love, & Killing in CIA Proxy Wars refuses that condition. It is a ferocious, unfiltered reckoning with the machinery of American empire, written by the men who served as its instruments. Sean Griobhtha, a former Army Ranger, and Rubicon deliver a searing indictment not merely of the politicians and intelligence agencies who orchestrate proxy wars, but of the democratic citizens whose taxes, votes, and willful ignorance enable them. Ignorantia non excusat-ignorance is no excuse. Yet, this text is not solely a catalog of state-sanctioned atrocity. It explores the profound existential tension between the psychological annihilation of combat and the grounding, humanizing forces of sex and love. Where military conditioning seeks to sever a soldier's empathy, erotic and emotional bonds-particularly Rubicon's 38-year marriage to his wife, Julie, who contributes the book's moving vanguard-serve as an act of radical resistance. Love is presented not as an escape from trauma, but as the agonizing, necessary anchor to humanity. Featuring the redacted ODNI letter, an unprecedented unofficial apology from a retired AFSOC General, and a deep forensic psychological deconstruction of Kill Training, X Rubicon dismantles the patriotic mythology of the empty warrior. It is a testament to the devastating weight of moral injury and a demand for collective accountability. This is not a historian's detached treatise. It is an autopsy of the American conscience....

        Biographie:
Sean Griobhtha (Author)Sean Griobhtha (pronounced gree-O-tah) is a former U.S. Army Ranger combat veteran (1978-1982) and an unapologetic anti-fascist. During his service, he participated in Operation Eagle Claw and led Ranger teams in Central and South American CIA proxy operations. Haunted by the punitive, retaliatory discharge of his former trainee, Rubicon, Griobhtha spent decades searching for him. Prior to securing the unprecedented ODNI authorization for X Rubicon, Griobhtha spent three years conducting an exhaustive, covert investigation-tracking down pilots, Electronic Warfare Officers, Navy SEALs, CIA analysts, DEA personnel, and foreign nationals across Latin America to verify the operational timelines and geopolitical betrayals documented in this book. While he holds the pen as the principal architect and writer of the Crossing Rubicons project, he acknowledges that the blood, memories, and soul of the text belong entirely to Rubicon.Rubicon (Subject & Co-Creator)Rubicon is the ODNI-mandated pseudonym for a former Air Force Special Operations (AFSOC) and CIA military Scout (1979-1982). Operating as a lone ground controller for AC-130H Spectre gunship strikes and executing close-quarters eliminations, he completed 18 combat assignments across 14 classified proxy war operations. Originally awarded the Air Force Cross, two Silver Stars, four Bronze Stars, and the CIA Distinguished Service Medal, he was stripped of his rank and honors when his conscience shattered and he refused to kill further. X Rubicon is the unfiltered transmission of his lived experience, his 40-year battle with severe moral injury and PTSD, and his ultimate refusal to remain silent.Julie / Mrs. Rubicon (Foreword)Julie holds a Master's degree in Pastoral Care and Psychology, with decades of experience tutoring dyslexic students and working within the court system to rehabilitate at-risk youth. She wrote the book's Foreward, Or The Vanguard. As Rubicon's wife of nearly forty years, she is the grounding force who walked with him through the inferno of severe PTSD, ultimately saving his life and making his testimony possible. The GP&R Editorial & Clinical Team (Contributors)The Crossing Rubicons project is fortified by a dedicated team of volunteers who refused to let this history be buried. Jules Bond, a former research librarian with thirty years of experience in cross-relational research, serves as Chief Editor. Dr. Juan Idalgo, a clinical and forensic psychologist, provides critical analysis of the government's Psychological Kill Training and the mechanisms of moral injury. John, a certified international project manager and corruption investigator, manages operations and research architecture. Original artwork is provided by Sophia Rose....

        Sommaire:
(Read About the Author below, or Author Statement on Substack) Griobhtha's work... has a profound emotional impact on readers, often described as jarring, transformative, and deeply unsettling, but also compassionate and hopeful. The book is a raw, unfiltered narrative based on the life of a combat veteran involved in CIA proxy wars in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. His writing is described as intense, emotionally jarring, and deeply compassionate. It critiques U.S. militarism, the VA, the CIA, and the broader American public's complicity in war. The book is especially focused on the long-term effects of PTSD and the moral reckoning that follows combat. He is an Army Ranger combat veteran and has known the subject of X Rubicon-referred to as Rubicon-since initial training and Operation Eagle Claw. He conducted extensive interviews with military personnel, CIA operatives, and reviewed classified documents to ensure the authenticity of the narrative...
