Résumé :
If you click my face in the corner Yep That's it Then the blue follow button Tap it You're done Welcome hunny Becky wants to be famous. Becky deserves to be famous. Becky has to be famous. When drag artist Becky Biro is told they need a larger following to be considered for international TV hit The Drag Factor, Becky can smell success. She will do whatever it takes to get there, then reap the rewards of her inevitable stardom. From the writer of the multi-award winning Velvet comes an outrageous, fast-paced dark comedy, laced with irreverent humour and cabaret songs. Fame Whore holds a mirror up to the desperate human desire for relevance, and the lengths one may go to get there. This edition was published to coincide with the run at King's Head Theatre in London, in October 2022....
Biographie:
Tom Ratcliffe is an internationally produced, multi-award winning writer who is based in London and Cambridge. He is currently under commission for Harlow Playhouse, Above the Stag Theatre and has work attached to Wildcard / Mercury Theatre. His debut play, Circa, premiered at the Theater de Meervaart, Amsterdam, in 2016 before running at The Vaults Theatre later the same year as part of Pride In London. The play was revived In 2019 at The Old Red Lion theatre where it ran for four weeks in a co-production with Harlow Playhouse. Velvet originally premiered at the Pleasance Courtyard during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2018. The play featured in The Scotsman's 'Best of the Fest' feature on multiple occasions and won 'Outstanding Monologue' in Theatre Weekly's 'Best of the Fest'. Velvet also ran at both VAULT Festival and Dublin International Gay Theatre Festival in 2019, where the play won the Sean Meehan Identity in Theatre award at the latter. The premise of Evelyn saw him shortlisted for the 2016 intake of the Old Vic 12 and the play was longlisted for multiple awards including Theatre503 playwriting award, Papatango Award and Soho Theatre's Verity Bargate Award. More than just a drag queen - Gigi Zahir, the human behind Crayola the Queen, is also a seasoned actor and theatre-maker. With two degrees under her belt from The Stella Adler Studio of Acting and the University of Reading, she's both a classically trained actress and theatre-maker: the stage is her home....
