Résumé :
The discipline of Pharmaceutical chemistry has undergone revolutionary changes in the last four decades our understanding of the systematic approach to quality control, therapeutic utility and clinical efficacy of herbal drugs have laid a firm foundation of modern Chemistry. The advent of newer analytical techniques has made inroads in understanding the chemical complexity of tissues and their biogenetic behaviours. Even though herbs were in use, since time immemorial in the treatment of human ailments, it was only in recent times, they have been scientifically processed and incorporated as reflected as ingredients in different pharmaceutical dosage forms. The revival of Phyto-pharmacy as reflected by its utility in modern drug therapy is true, a significant contribution of all those engaged in research about this branch of pharmaceutical sciences. The chapters on medicinal plant biotechnology including plant tissue culture, analytical Pharmaceutical chemistry and biological are the important features of the text. Our aim remains to provide up to date relevant scientific information on natural drugs useful in understanding modern concepts of Pharmaceutical chemistry.
