Andre Norton (1912-2005) was an American author of science fiction and fantasy whose work played a central role in the development of mid-twentieth-century genre fiction. Writing across numerous series and standalone novels, she is particularly known for her planetary adventures and explorations of cultural encounter. Norton was the first woman to receive the Grand Master Award from the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America....
