Biographie:
Born in London in 1964, Dave Winter spent much of his twenties travelling in the Middle East, South Asia and Southeast Asia, visiting Pakistan on several occasions. Having graduated from the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies with a first class honours degree in Geography, Dave joined the Footprint team as co-author of the first edition of the Footprint Pakistan Handbook. He has subsequently returned to Pakistan numerous times on holiday, to watch cricket, and to update the Handbook. When not indulging his passion for travel, Dave divides his time between Paris, where he now lives, and East London, home of his other great passion, Leyton Orient Football Club. Ivan Mannheim also studied at the School of Oriental and African Studies, finding time in between to travel extensively in Asia and the Middle East. His detailed knowledge of Pakistan was put to good use in researching and writing the first edition of the Footprint Pakistan Handbook with Dave Winter. Since then he has frequently been drawn back there by his love of mountains, undertaking numerous treks in the Karakoram and Hindu Kush areas. He lives in Dorset and, when not working on guidebooks, devotes his spare time to sailing, walking and motorcycles.
