Essential Ethics for Social Work Practice provides social work students with the foundational knowledge and skills that they will need to identify, analyse, and manage challenging ethical issues. This textbook provides students with case examples, questions, and exercises to help them apply what they are learning in a range of practice situations (including individual counseling, group work, family practice, community organization, advocacy, antiracist practice, research, or other areas of generalist social work practice). Students will learn not only how to integrate the principles of honesty, integrity, social justice, respect, access to service, human relationships, and professional competence in their everyday practice, but also how to collaborate with clients, supervisors, and other stakeholders when ethical conflicts arise and challenging decisions need to be made.

Biographie:
Allan Edward Barsky (JD, MSW, PhD) is Professor of Social Work at Florida Atlantic University. His teaching and research interests include social work practice theory and skill development, pedagogy, conflict resolution, professional ethics, and substance abuse. His book credits include Ethics and Values in Social Work (2019) and Conflict Resolution for the Helping Professions (2017).
