    • Résumé :
The Good Man is a story for everyone. It mixes romance, sports, light drama, and subtle mystery into an engaging tale of a young boy who stumbles his way through life's obstacles. He and his friend, Charli, a spunky girl down the road, ride horses, catch fish, chase pigs, and grow up together. They are best friends, but are they more than that? Carter goes out for football and becomes a very skilled wide receiver. He has hands like Velcro. Finally, college football comes calling. He goes to Western Michigan University and has a respectable career. However, in one of his last games of the season, Carter surprises everyone by being featured in an ESPN highlight spot. With a year of eligibility left, he ends up on the East coast to play for Boston College through the College Football Transfer Portal. He is like a fish out of water. His laid-back Midwestern manners and 'yes, sir' approach sharply contrast with Boston's fast paced life style. The story is a warmhearted, thought-provoking, fun adventure which takes the reader not only on Carter's journey to maturity but introduces them to unique, feisty characters who radiate from the pages. Eventually, Carter meets Molly O'Malley, who helps him adapt to the idiosyncrasies of the east coast. But what will Charli think of her, or Julie, his tutor, who acquired an interest in him? Or even Kathy or Kitty. Oh, yes. There were others who couldn't resist the good man.

      Biographie:
Peter Alderman graduated from Western Michigan University and earned a master's degree from Boston College. He went on to be an award-winning educator after teaching for thirty-seven years in Natick Massachusetts. He has written several children's book: Soccer Counts and The ABCs of Health. He also wrote The Rockets' Red Glare, a historical account of our national anthem and accompanied by a CD by Platinum Award winning artist JoDee Messina. His popular first novel, Train Tracks, is certainly not a children's book as it explores the darker side of life in a quick moving, riveting style.
