Zeitgen?ssische Kunst in China

Parallel zum rasanten Wirtschaftswachstum hat sich in China ein regelrechter Kunstboom entwickelt. Insbesondere in den letzten 20 Jahren hat sich eine gro?e formale und thematische Vielfalt in der Gegenwartskunst entwickelt. Wie facettenreich die Auseinandersetzung der K?nstler*innen mit ihrer Historie, ihren Traditionen und der aktuellen Gegenwart ist, zeigt die Ausstellung mit rund 70 Werken aus der Sammlung des Herforder Unternehmers Heiner Wemh?ner im M?nchehaus Museum Goslar. 2005 gr?ndete er eine Dependance in Changzhou, unweit von Schanghai, und ist im Besitz der gr??ten privaten Sammlung chinesischer Gegenwartskunst in Deutschland. Die Ausstellung zeigt Arbeiten von Darren Almond, Cai Dongdong, Chen Xiaoyun, Chen Yu, Dong Mingguang, Hai Bo, Hu Jieming, Alfredo Jaar, Ji Wenyu, Isaac Julien, Kexin Zang, Lu Chao, Ni Youyu, Ouyang Chun, Qui Zhijie, RongRong & Inri, Shi Xinning, Tang Maohong, Heidi Voet Wang Dongling, Wang Quingsong, Wang Shugang, Wei Guangqing, Xue Ruozhe, Yan Shanchun, Yan Pei-Ming, Yang Fudong, Yang Yongliang, Yin Xiuzhen, Yu Ji, Yue Minjun, Zhang Dali, Zhang Enli, Zhang Huan, Zhang Wei, Zhao Bandi und Zuoxiao Zuzhou.

On Contemporary Art in China

China's rapid ascent as an economic superpower has gone hand in hand with a booming art market. Throughout the last 20 years in particular, the country has witnessed the emergence of a contemporary art scene distinguished by its enormous formal and thematic diversity that has absorbed the global discourses of the international art world. The multifaceted quality of Chinese artists' engagement with their history and traditions as well as the world of today is shown in the exhibition that presents around 70 works from the collection of the Herford entrepreneur Heiner Wemh?ner in the M?nchehaus Museum Goslar. His collection became the largest private collection of Chinese contemporary art in Germany and in 2005, he established a dependence not far from Shanghai in Changzhou.
