Der polnische Maler Roman Lipski (geb. 1969, in Nowy Dw?r Gdanski, Polen; lebt und arbeitet in Berlin) ist einer der Pioniere auf dem Gebiet der Quantenkunst. Seine Werke entstehen in Verwendung von Quantum Blur, einer Technik zur Manipulation von Bildern mit Hilfe von Quantenoperationen. 2016 begann er die Erforschung von Artificial Muse, einer algorithmusbasierten digitalen Entit?t, die es ihm erm?glichte, frei mit den Ausdrucksm?glichkeiten der Malerei zu experimentieren. Die Software besteht aus verschiedenen Algorithmen und lernt, wie Farbe, Komposition, Kontraste und Strukturen in Lipskis Bildern funktionieren. Am Ende spuckt sie neue Werke aus: im Stil von Lipski, nicht aber vom K?nstler gemalt.

Die Technologieexperimente Lipskis sezieren das Zusammenspiel von Kunst und Wissenschaft, das neue Formen der Kreativit?t und Inspiration verspricht, eine verlockende Verhei?ung. Superpositions zeigt sowohl diesen neuen Werkzyklus als auch einen breit gef?cherten Querschnitt der Arbeiten der letzten 16 Jahre.

Polish painter Roman Lipski (b. Nowy Dw?r Gdanski, Poland, 1969; lives and works in Berlin) is a pioneer in the field of quantum art. His works are created using Quantum Blur, a technique for manipulating images with quantum operations. In 2016 he began exploring Artificial Muse, an algorithm-based digital entity that allows him to freely experiment with the expressive possibilities of painting. The software consists of various algorithms that learn how color, composition, contrasts, and textures work in Lipski's paintings. In the end, it spits out new works-painted in Lipski's style, but not by the artist.

Lipski's technological experiments dissect the interplay between art and science in a way that promises new forms of creativity and inspiration, a tantalizing prospect. Superpositions presents this new cycle of works as well as a wide-ranging cross section of work from the past 16 years.
