The field of surgery that deals with the disorders associated with the musculoskeletal system is called orthopedic surgery. Some of the common procedures associated with orthopedic surgery include astragalectomy, bone grafting and corpectomy. Astragalectomy refers to the surgical procedure used for removing the talus bone for the stabilization of the ankle. The surgical procedure which is used to replace a missing bone for repairing complex bone fractures is called bone grafting. Corpectomy is a type of surgical operation which is concerned with the removal of all or part of the vertebral body. This book brings forth some of the most innovative concepts and elucidates the unexplored aspects of orthopedic surgery. The objective of this book is to give a general view of the different areas of orthopedic surgery and its applications.
