Clinical pathology is a specialization in medicine, concerned with the laboratory analysis of bodily fluids such as urine and blood, as well as the examination of tissue samples using cultures and automated analyzers to make a diagnosis of diseases. The secondary specialties of clinical pathology include hematopathology, clinical microbiology, chemical pathology, molecular genetics pathology, cytogenetics, etc. There is an evident overlap between clinical pathology and anatomic pathology, which has led to its expansion to molecular diagnostics and proteomics.
