?Gretha J?nger and the Thing Itself. A Portrait with Carl Schmitt?: Gretha J?nger influenced the relationship between Carl Schmitt and Ernst J?nger. Before 1945, the tensions in this triad shaped Schmitt's relationship to the NS regime. In the post-war era, their conflicts revealed deeper ideological splits. These changed the triadic relationship, since Gretha J?nger, with her view of the world was closer to Carl Schmitt than her husband. Nonetheless Carl Schmitt broke off contact with her in 1953, which is discussed in dazzling detail here for the first time.

Biographie:
Ingeborg Villinger studied political science and literature, history and comparative literature at the Universities of Freiburg and Siegen, then she edits Carl Schmitt's estate. After her doctorate on Carl Schmitt and her habilitation on Ernst Cassirer, she was professor for political science at the University of Freiburg until 2009. Among other publications, she is the editor of the correspondence between Gretha J?nger and Carl Schmitt and published the biography ?Gretha J?nger. The Invisible Woman? with Klett-Cotta in 2021.
