Von der Guerillera mit dem Kampfnamen Tania ausgehend entfaltet sich ein Netz roter F?den zu verschiedensten Themen wie Kanonisierung, Neues Wohnen, politisches Theater, Geschlechternormen und Heimat. Wenn Meli?n zeichnet, stempelt, ?berlagert, n?ht, komponiert und webt, bringt sie politisch und gesellschaftlich brisante Themen in ungeahnte Zusammenh?nge. Michaela Meli?n, geb. 1956, K?nstlerin und Musikerin, lebt in Oberbayern und Hamburg. Sie ist Mit- begr?nderin der Band F.S.K. und lehrt seit 2010 an der Hochschule f?r bildende K?nste in Hamburg. -- The product of artistic research, montage, and reproduction processes, Michaela Meli?n's works involve a complex, transmedia layering of image, sound, and text. Red Threads, which is published in conjunction with the identically titled survey exhibition on Meli?n at the KINDL - Centre for Contemporary Art in Berlin, focuses on Tamara Bunke and follows the trajectory of her life as it switches between the GDR and South America. Starting from the guerrillera who went under the nom de guerre Tania, a network of red threads unfolds, leitmotifs that cover a wide range of themes that include canonization, the Neues Wohnen movement, political theatre, gender norms, and a sense of home. Meli?n's drawings, stamps, overlays, sewn pieces, weavings, and musical compositions provide unexpected contextualization for themes that are politically and socially volatile. Michaela Meli?n, b. 1956, is an artist and musician living in Upper Bavaria and Hamburg. She co-founded the band F.S.K. and has taught at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg (HfbK) since 2010.
