Résumé :
This book is a first offering of poetry by actor/teacher/artist, Jeff Warren. It is a compilation of some of the poems written across more than half a century. He writes with great personal passion and humor. His love and use of words enables him to capture his thoughts and feelings about love and love lost, apostasy to whimsy. Some are fanciful, others iconoclastic. You may even find a couple of erotic ones. Each poem expresses a moment, a thought or a dream in his life when he was so moved by love, tears, anger or laughter that he felt compelled to write a poem....
Biographie:
Jeff Warren has spent a lifetime steeped in the Arts; first as a professional actor and a singer, then teaching Theatre Arts. Throughout his life, he has held a strong passion for theatre, painting and writing. He began writing poetry in his teens. His first poem was an ode to the beautiful red hair of the captivating girl who sat in front of him in French class. Over the years he has penned hundreds of poems, sharing his love for words. His theatre credits include the National Touring Company of Fiddler on the Roof, The Hedgerow Theatre Company in Philadelphia as resident set designer and leading man, and numerous musicals including 300 performances as Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha. Moving to Los Angeles in the 1970s also provided him with voiceover work dubbing films and television. After 25 years onstage, he joined the Theatre Arts faculty at a prestigious Los Angeles private high school. For more than two decades, he had the pleasure of designing and directing more than 75 productions as an Advanced Acting and Technical Theatre teacher. He says that working all day making Art with kids may be the ultimate in great jobs. He now resides in the East Mountains of New Mexico, where in retirement, has the time and freedom to pursue his early passions - painting, and poetry. His award-winning paintings are shown in Santa Fe galleries as well as several galleries in Albuquerque. They can also be viewed on his website at www.jeffwarrenartist.com.
