The last thing 16-year-old Cody wanted to do during summer vacation was spend a week with his cantankerous grandfather. But what he thought would be a boring visit turns out to be one of the greatest adventures of his life. Discovering his grandfather's old World War II journal he learns about a daring, top secret mission that his grandfather and three old guys from the local donut shop took part in. Code named operation Night Hawk, it was a mission to destroy a German hydro-plant and keep the Nazis from developing Atomic bombs. From his discovery he also learns of a mysterious giant of a man named Jake and a painful secret that his grandfather has carried for 50 years; a secret that has slowly destroyed his soul. Although the Journal hints at Operation Night Hawk, it doesn't tell the full story of the mission. To find out what happened on that fateful night, deep behind enemy lines, Cody will have to confront his grandfather; a daunting task, since his grandfather doesn't want to remember the pains of the past. But if he wants to hear the end of the incredible story, discover who Jake is and save his grandfather's soul, somehow, he will have to find the courage.
