Sanskrit und Griechische starke und sch waehe Ca sus durch die Betonung so von einander unterschei den, dafs in den ersteren der Ton h?her, in den letz teren tiefer liegt Auffallend aber kann es erschei nen, dafs das mit dem Litauischen so nahe verwandte Lettische von der Betonungsart des ersteren ganz ab gefallen ist und somit auch das principielle Einver st?ndnifs mit dem Sanskrit aufgegeben hat.
