      • Résumé :
This book attempts to address some of the important issues for our children: from Covid-19 pandemic to global warming and climate change, from discrimination and bullying to welcoming and friendship, or from schooling to summer camp. All those issues can be resolved in an open-minded, creative, supportive, trusting, challenging, and fun environment like a summer camp. As someone who had a positive experience in camping with the young, I want to use a camp setting to bring the young together to resolve the important issues of their time. The camp helps foster a healthy bond of friendship that can give an individual strength to do incredible things and encouragement to overcome any life challenge. I hope this story will give the young confidence and encouragement to do the right things for themselves, people around them, and the world. We need them to make our world a better place. Happy camping, everyone!...

        Biographie:
I was inspired to write this story after watching the news about children being separated from their parents by our new Immigration policy. This unfortunate news also touches my own nerves. Thirty years ago I sought asylum as a victim of the Viet Nam War after sneaking out of the Communist-controlled country by boat. I had to face lots of danger including prison, hunger, thirst, ocean, sharks, pirates, cannibalism, and so on. Fortunately, I was rescued and brought to a refugee camp in Singapore. However, I was a minor - only fifteen years old - and without any adult with me. I was kept in an orphanage place at the camp. I still remember clearly how I felt when I was led to that place.I know exactly how the children who were caught in our recent Immigration mayhem feel and can relate to them and their families. I was one of them but was blessed to be united with my father and allowed to come to America. I pray that this story brings peace, comfort, and hope to our children no matter what situation they might be in.

        Sommaire:
Rev. Peter G. Vu is the author of the prayer book Lord Jesus, I want to see... . He is a Catholic priest of the Diocese of Grand Rapids, Michigan for twenty years. He was born in Saigon City (currently Ho Chi Minh City), Viet Nam. He was a young boy when the Viet Nam War ended. He witnessed the war and the end of it with great horror and deep appreciation for peace. He grew up under the communist government system and endured lots of hardship. What helped him and many of his countrymen tremendously during those dark days was their faith and prayers. His love for prayer and meditation was able to blossom. After High School, Vu snuck out by boat and came to the United States of America to begin his seminary training. He attended one year of High School in the USA (Union High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan) to learn the language and new culture. He attended Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan for two years while staying at Christopher House Seminary. Then, the Seminary sent him out of state to attend his last two years of college at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He graduated with double major: Mathematics and Philosophy. He then attended graduate school at the University of St. Mary of the Lake and Mundelein Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. Vu graduated at the top of his class and was ordained with the Master Degree of Divinity (MDiv) and the Sacred Theology Baccalaureate (STB). He was a student of Most Reverend Bishop Robert Barron, who is the prolific writer and international speaker. Vu has been ministering to people of God at six different churches over the last twenty years. --This text refers to the paperback edition....
