    • Résumé :
An unidentified man, physically damaged with a fractured mind, is locked in a coma while living three different lives at once. Dr. Cheryl Atkinson, a renowned research physicist, is eager to help guide him out. Her work is sponsored by the U.S. government and military officials who hope to use her innovative neurological solution to curb suicide rates among veterans, medical personnel, and first responders. While Dr. Atkinson battles to revive this patient, leaders of a group of multinational corporations stake an oversight claim to her project. A secretive cabal, working from within, is determined to use the doctor's mind-altering technology for a more sinister purpose. Highly intelligent, and feisty, the doctor is driven to satisfy a lifelong ambition to reach people lost in catatonic states due to severe trauma. She and her team are working to uncover the identity of her patient and the cause of his injuries and mental disorder. The doctor knows he's hiding from her behind multiple storylines, visualized by her creative technology. Why is this patient so determined to evade her attempts to help him? Is he an actor, tradesperson, or consultant? Each of these personas is involved with strong-willed women. All of them have one thing in common: the faithful companionship of a laid-back Red German Shepherd named Dawg. Immerse yourself in a fantastical internal landscape where the lines between past, present, future, imagination and reality blur.

      Biographie:
      M. Daniel Smith is a prolific author of historical fiction, speculative and literary fiction, mysteries and thrillers. The Red Path, the first book in the Legacy's Road series, is his debut historical novel. He particularly enjoys writing about strong-willed, feisty women and the men they love, showing them in moments of emotional turmoil, introspective conversation, and physical closeness. Coming from a blue-collar background, raised with two older sisters and strong female role models, Daniel enjoys exploring the interplay between wives and husbands, siblings, and people meeting, then falling in love.As a voracious reader who began reading all the books in his parents' library when he was five, he cut his teeth on a wide range of subject matters, covering war, romance, historical novels, and the like.A life-long Mainer, he is continually inspired by the wild natural beauty of his home state. Now retired, Daniel spends his time writing the type of novels he grew up with, telling his character's stories as clearly and as honestly as possible.
