Dr. Shaywitz is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine, is regularly selected as one of the 'Best Doctors in America', and was chosen, along with Dr. Bennett Shaywitz, her husband, as a recipient of the Liberty Science Center 2019 Genius Award for 'advancing our understanding of dyslexia'. She lives in Connecticut and Massachusetts, US.
Jonathan Shaywitz, M.D., is a Harvard Medical School graduate and UCLA-trained board-certified psychiatrist. He was the director of the Anxiety Disorders Program at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles and more recently the medical director of behavioural health at Mission Hospital Laguna Beach and Mission Hospital Mission Viejo. He lives in Los Angeles, California, US.
