Shane had the privilege of meeting his long-time hero: civil rights leader, and minister, John Perkins. Little did he know that we would form a friendship and John would become a mentor. Over a series of years they had numerous conversations as Shane wanted to know from John what leading a life faithful to Jesus Christ actually looks like. What followed was a series of vulnerable and heartfelt conversations between John and Shane and their reflections on those conversations. Biographie:
John Perkins is the founder and president emeritus of the John and Vera Mae Perkins Foundation and cofounder of Christian Community Development Association. He is one of the leading evangelical voices to come out of the American civil rights movement, and is an author and international speaker on issues of reconciliation, leadership, and community development. For his tireless work he has received fourteen honorary doctorates. One Blood, along with Dr. Perkins' other books, provides an enduring legacy for a man who continues to leave his mark on American culture. Shane Blackshear is the host of the podcast Seminary Dropout, and on the pastoral team at Austin Mustard Seed. He lives with his wife, Kate, and their kids, Margot and Amos, in Austin, Texas.
