This module focuses on the move to produce genetically altered food. How does this affect the standard food producers and their income? Students will be encouraged to read the article critically. Using this system students will also be encouraged to begin reading a wider range of material. This wider circle of information will result in more confidence and motivation to engage in discussion with others.
Learning to find the arguments in news stories and other reading material may also improve writing skills. Engaging in discussion and debate will enable students to move ideas forward with sound arguments.
Flipped learning is on the rise in education. This module is designed for that specific learning model. Students have access to videos to watch at home or online. quizzes are interactive and available online. Debate and critical thinking are at the center of the course. It is easy to teach when students have made a bit of an effort to prepare. Preparing at home with short videos makes class time more efficient. He has also written papers on ideas like the 7AIQ method of engaging in dialogue with better results. He is currently developing the formula 1+3+2+Q which expands on that theory.
