Many of SCBWI artist & writer CAROL-LYNN R?SSEL's 25 traditionally published books feature dolls & Teddy Bears. Her lovable Teddy Bear designs for collectors & manufacturers have charmed children worldwide. Her digital paintings for this book began as composites of her photographs taken on Monhegan and at home.
It began as a poem.
Then a song.
She is learning to play the ukulele.
It is red.
She lives in Central Maine and loves Monhegan Island.
Biographie:
Carol-Lynn R?ssel loves to visit Monhegan Island, Maine & to take photographs of its places & people. When a girl on Staten Island in New York City, Santa left her, each year, a doll & a book. One year he added a camera, film & her grandmother's painting box. These led her to her life's work.Carol-Lynn's monochrome photography has been exhibited internationally. Her lovable Teddy Bear designs for collectors & companies have charmed children worldwide. Many of her 25 conventionally published books feature dolls & Teddy Bears.Her house is full of toys, many of which she has made. Some were models for the characters in this book. She took their portraits, combined them with her Monhegan Island photos & used these composites as reference for her digitally painted illustrations.She lives in Central Maine & is learning to play the ukulele.
