He graduated from University of Missouri at St. Louis after accepting a baseball scholarship to play for the UMSL Rivermen. During this time he became a 2-Time All-American and graduated with a BA in Science. He furthered his education by getting a MA in Science at Walden University. Later, he moved to the Missouri area and started coaching in 2007.
