HOFFMAN, OKMULGEE COUNTY, OKLAHOMA: DOING BUSINESS ON THE INDIAN TERRITORY FRONTIER is a 240-page history of business activity at what was first a Creek Indian Nation and then later an Okmulgee County town site, documented by means of a unique collection of photographs and other graphic forms that illustrate what life was like there between around 1870 up to more recent times. The focus of the book is on the businesses of Hoffman Townsite, but information about many former residents, buildings, homes, landmarks, and key events is included as well. The intent of the author was to capture the look and feel of day-to-day life in one of the many town sites that were incorporated soon after land in the Oklahoma Indian Territory was made available for outside settlement....

Biographie:
Mike Martin is a graduate of Cal State University at Fresno and the University of Northern Colorado who has written two books about communities that came into being after land in the Oklahoma Indian Territory became available for outside settlement. His narrated multimedia presentations based on these books have been hosted by a variety of organizations. Mike was born Henryetta, Oklahoma. Today, he and his wife Ginny and son Damen live in Tomball, Texas.
