Résumé :
Phrotose is derived from the blending of photos and prose to create a collection of works consisting of photos taken from around the world and the prose that has been inspired by these photographs. Some of these works are based on the personal experiences of the author and some are pure fantasy and fiction, whose only link to reality is through the author's vivid imagination. You will find Phrotose to be amusing, romantic, enlightening and inspiring. These works of unconventional nature all come together to give an insight into the extraordinary mind of a well-travelled, retired chartered accountant making the most of escaping the confines of his office to metamorphosise into a talented photographer and poet. It's up to the reader to decide if the photo is the more important element of the work or whether the prose eclipses the photo that inspired it. Or perhaps you will find a balance between the two. Whichever way, the assortment of subjects, styles and poetry formats will keep you entertained and unsure of what will follow on the next page.
Biographie:
Philip sold his New Zealand accountancy practice in 2015 and moved to France to enjoy early semi-retirement and to work on his photography skills. He was introduced to the concept of interpreting photographs into poems and prose by a fellow from his new photography club and soon gained a reputation for the quality of his work. His photography and the prose thus inspired to expose Philip's unconventional way of looking at the world.
