The author is much indebted to other similar works for the materials of which this is composed. Wherever, however, he has availed himself of the language of others, he has generally modified or condensed it, to meet the object which he had in view. It will be seen that the Forms of Prayer to be used in Families, set forth in the Book of Common Prayer, are inserted entire. The Col lects are also added; and it is recommended that they be used, in their season, with the daily prayers.
