      • Résumé :
Two teams, one campus, a test of character. Center Rush Rowland unfolds as a vivid slice of early twentieth century life, where schoolyard grit and scholarly study meet the spirit of college athletics fiction. This is juvenile sports fiction that feels both intimate and expansive, a historical sport fiction tapestry set within an American college milieu that honors tradition while inviting fresh empathy for modern readers. The book blends sport ethics and fairness with heartfelt teamwork in competition and the personal growth born of rivalry. It offers a clear, accessible narrative that rewards casual readers and invites study as a literary analysis companion, making it a natural ally for young readers and scholars alike. Restored to shine for today's audiences, its quiet drama, sturdy themes, and memorable characters speak to the enduring pull of sport as a vehicle for character, conscience, and camaraderie. Center Rush Rowland holds both literary and historical significance: a landmark in Barbour athlete fiction that captures an era, its social codes, and the timeless energy of athletes negotiating ambition, discipline, and belonging. For classic-literature collectors and newcomers alike, this edition is a doorway to a cherished, influential world. Out of print for decades and now republished by Alpha Editions. Restored for today's and future generations. More than a reprint - a collector's item and a cultural treasure....
