Résumé : Selected by Victoria Chang as the winner of the 2021 Kathryn A. Morton Prize in Poetry. This is one of those brave collections that offers a panoramic view of time and space, and of humanity's place within them. Additionally, this collection examines the real danger of climate change. It is broad in focus and it is an important and timeless collection.
Evans's poetry chapbook, The Category of Outcast, was selected by Terrance Hayes for the Poetry Society of Americas New American Poets series.
His previous and debut book, A Penance (New Issues, 2012), was a finalist for the Northern California Book Award, and it received rave reviews from Vanity Fair, Huffington Post, Publishers Weekly, and elsewhere.
Evans co-edited, with Brenda Shaughnessy, Satellite Convulsions: Poems from Tin House.
Evans is the editor of Two Lines Press, and previously, he was an editor at Tin House and worked at the Academy of American Poets.
Evans earned his MFA from Columbia.
