The book has been inspired by incidents which happened during the pandemic. These are real stories of real people, some based on the writers observation of the life around, and some are gleaned from the social media. The book consists of five short stories. The writer has also mentioned the source of stories in the foot notes.. There is the neglected home maker Nalini, who found the lockdown period to be a blessing and how! Then in the next story, there is Shashank with his infatuation which seemed quite farfetched at a certain point of time. Could the lockdown bring him any closer to it. Environmentalist Satish Naidu had always dreamt of meeting his favorite animal the 'Cheetah.' Could he really come face to face with one during the lockdown! Shastri Saarang Namboodri was reduced to his last penny due to the closure of temples during the lockdown. What happened next? Could he find a means of survival? Gulzar Qureshi the handsome bachelor met Laila the second time while going back to his village on foot. The first time that he had met her, he had rejected her marriage proposal. Could the lockdown period bring them close.

Biographie:
Shalini Khare is a Fulbright alumna and an ex Kendriya Vidyalaya teacher (TGT English)who took voluntary retirement in October 2018. A freelance journalist, an amateur singer, an anchor she has written for ' Deccan Chronicle' Newspaper, sung on radio and hosted television and stage shows.Apart from this she is an animal activist and runs a small dog shelter called, Karuna Animal Care Center.Corona - The Brighter Side her first book is a collection of five short stories based on true happenings during the lockdown period.She is the proud recipient of the prestigious ' Fulbright Scholarship' and was deputed to USA under Teacher Exchange Programme in the year 2008 where she taught English in Horizon High School at Scottsdale in Phoenix, Arizona for five months.Her stories are brief pen portraits of the life in these Corona times, and focus is on the positive fallouts of the pandemic, thus proving the adage that ' every gray cloud has a silver lining.'
