Quasi-Biotope und hybride Wesen

In den Werken von Paula Lo?ffer (geb. 1989 in Frankfurt/Main, lebt und arbeitet in Berlin) stehen Kultur und Natur nicht in Opposition, sie beeinflussen sich gegenseitig und zehren voneinander. Lo?ffer entwickelte in ihrer Praxis ein Kabinett der Aufkl?rung, in dem sich ihre Arbeiten zu einer fragmentarischen Erz?hlung u?ber Natur, Sex und Zersto?rung zu verdichten scheinen. Im Rahmen ihres Arbeitsaufenthaltes in Lemgo u?bersetzte Lo?ffer zudem Sprache in pflanzliche und tierische Attribute, die im Ausstellungsraum neue Biotope schufen.

Die Publikation Soft Mutation dokumentiert die gleichnamige Ausstellung im Rahmen des Stipendiums fu?r Junge Kunst der Alten Hansestadt Lemgo.

Quasi-Biotopes and Hybrid Creatures

In Paula Lo?ffer's (b. Frankfurt/Main, 1989; lives and works in Berlin) works, culture and nature, far from being antagonists, influence and nurture one another. In her practice, Lo?ffer has developed a cabinet of the Enlightenment in which her works seem to coalesce into a dense yet fragmentary narrative of nature, sex, and destruction. In the exhibition she installed as part of her residency in Lemgo, Lo?ffer also translated language into vegetal and animal attributes that charted novel biotopes in the gallery.

The publication Soft Mutation documents the exhibition of the same title in conjunction with the emerging artist's fellowship of the City of Lemgo.
