      • Résumé :
Thank you so much for your latest book. Again it is a polished piece of theology inspired by the Gospels. I must thank you for the straightforward language you have used. The more access to the Word the better. Revd. Eddy Burfitt Newcastle upon Tyne This book tackles different topics on questions and issues which confront us today at different stages of our lives. As we journey through life, we will find this a good recipe book, with its clear instructions, well tested methods by those who have preceded us on this side of the Cross, as well as the other side, and good ingredients which can provide nourishing food for that journey, into a healthy Christian life. Rosemay Dunlop Tyne & Wear The variety of content in 'NEW CREATION' is instantly inviting with the inclusion of more ways of communicating truth through poetry, allegory and photographic images. The alphabetical index is most helpful. The messages are a faithful commitment to preach truth from the Bible knowing the power it has to give life purpose and meaning. Margaret Tyler West Sussex This second book, 'NEW CREATION', is every bit as good as the first one, 'A Light To My Path', with good story illustrations and Scripture references. I would hope that everyone could read it through at least once and retain it for reference or platform for their own spreading of the gospel! A thought from Isaiah 55 v 11 - so is my word that goes out from my mouth: it shall not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire, and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Douglas Tate Co. Durham A great read. This book covers a very wide range of historic and contemporary issues. It does not shy away from controversy, and addresses topics which we don't often face up to. The book contains quotes from Wikipedia and other literary sources, and tackles critical issues. Statements are backed up with a variety of quotations from different sources. These chime with real experience. A very clear case for a Christian faith which is contemporary and relates to today's experience, whilst being founded on a bedrock of solid Scriptural foundations. I hope it reaches a wide and receptive audience. Peter Howitt Surrey...

        Biographie:
Derek Burton is Reader Emeritus in the Church of England diocese of Newcastle upon Tyne. He is married to Marian, and they have three sons and five grandchildren. Derek qualified as Architect RIBA in 1973, and the family moved from Reigage in Surrey to Whitley Bay in 1978 when Derek joined Faulkner Browns Architects at Killingworth. He was licensed Reader by the Bishop in Newcastle Cathedral in 1981, and was appointed Emeritus in 2001. After thirteen years at Faulkner Browns, Derek finished his career as Surveyor in the Newcastle Diocese, and retired in 1996. After retirement, he continued in practice as a private architect, with several local projects and culminating in the conversion of a Methodist church into offices for a charity working with homeless young people. The church hall was converted into worship space, and is now being used as refuge space with food and leisure facilities for homeless young people.
