Résumé :
IF YOU'VE EVER HAD THE EXPERIENCE of watching someone age before your eyes and wished you could give them something to help them improve their life, or if you are the one aging, and feel lost, depressed, lonely, and unable to find joy, then you've found the right book. At ninety years of age, Audrey C. Ralph shares her secrets for living a long, happy, and healthy life and debunks the myth that this new stage of living must be accompanied by infirmity and uselessness. Unlike other books on the subject, where the focus is on diet and exercise, or how the medical system must change to accommodate the world's growing aging population, this book focuses entirely on the individual, and gives tangible advice that will immediately begin to improve their quality of life. In this brilliantly and simply presented book, you will: ? Discover the 16 keys to maintaining emotional and physical health as you age ? Uncover the 9 key areas that help you maintain a positive mental attitude and keep you mentally sharp ? Learn about the impacts that mental and emotional health have on physical health (and vice versa) Join the authors on this exciting journey of discovery, and learn the vital keys to living a happier, healthier, and more fulfilled life in your golden years.
Biographie:
Audrey C. Ralph is a retired registered nurse who spent over 25 years in the field of geriatric care, first as a nursing supervisor, then as a geriatric in-home care specialist. During her career, she helped those in her care to live happier, healthier, and more fulfilled lives. She spent her early career as a public health nurse, then worked as a nursing supervisor for the Visiting Nurses Association of New York - working in New York City and Spanish Harlem. In her later years, she gained knowledge and experience caring for older patients, first as a nursing supervisor at Rydal Park Medical Center, then as an in-home care specialist. Audrey was born and grew up in Hamden, Connecticut. She had an older sister named Dorothy, who worked as a bank teller and secretary. Her mother was a full-time homemaker, and her father was an officer in a plumbing supply company in New Haven, Connecticut. She trained as a registered nurse at Grace New Haven School of Nursing. She went on to get her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education from Syracuse University, and her Master of Science in Nursing Education from Yale University. Audrey enjoys activities such as singing in various church groups, gardening, reading, natural science, and being with family and friends. She lives in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania.
