Biographie:
he is currently Assistant Professor of Sociology at Willamette University. Vail is the author of several articles on tattooing as deviance, and his dissertation, The Tattoos We Deserve, is being considered by the University of Chicago Press. Erich Goode received his doctorate at Columbia and has taught at half a dozen universities, including the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and New York University, and is Sociology Professor Emeritus at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland. He is the author of dozens of academic as well as non-scholarly articles as well as 10 books, and the editor of five anthologies, mainly on drug use and deviance. His books include Deviant Behavior (7th ed.), Prentice Hall, 2005, and Drugs in American Society, McGraw-Hill (6th ed.), 2005.
