Résumé :
Psychochirology - the study of personality structure by means of reading the hands - can reveal the present psychological situation, parental characteristics and influences, inherent and acquired patterns of behavior and capabilities, inner conflicts of all natures and their potential for integration, as well as possibilities for growth. Each finger and mount portrays a different masculine and feminine archetypal figure, and they are always in flux. Getting to know them becomes a means of self-awareness, and in a therapeutic setting can also be a diagnostic tool. The hand holds our individual myth like a personal key: how can knowledge of this key lead to our own transformation? We know that our hands express and communicate as readily as they grasp and skillfully accomplish the tasks of life. They have many languages, from signing for the deaf to forming mudras for the sacred dancer and priest. AIthough this book covers a difficult subject, it introduces us to the embodied manifestations of psyche in the hand. (from the Foreword by Sylvia Brinton Perera)Yael Haft was born and raised in Israel and has been an active psychochirologist, researcher and therapist for over thirty years. She lectures at universities and congresses and has conducted workshops throughout Israel, Europe and the United States. Mrs. Haft is a member of the Israel Association for Psychotherapy and the National Expressive Therapy Association, and is founder and head of the Center for the Study and Research of Modes of Consciousness. She lives and practices primarily in Haifa, Israel.
