Résumé :
From the author of Omega Watches, a new book that completes the history of the famous Swiss brand with a series of creations conceived for the world of sport. More than fifty items photographed full page, together with enlargements revealing the details of watchcase, face, clockwork and related calibres. Omega Sport Watches tells the story of the Seamaster, Railmaster, Speedmaster, Flightmaster and other successful Omega creations. Among limited editions, anecdotes and rarities the history of these watches is told by the great American collector John Goldberger, with an introduction by Giampiero Negretti. One section of the book retraces, through advertisements kept in the Omega Museum, the history of the famous hands which over the years have consolidated the fame of this brand. Founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt in La-Chaux-de-Fonds, in 1880 the company moved to its current headquarters in Bienne, the name Omega however dates only to the beginning of last century. Prior to that date Louis Brandt production was known for the various names that he put on the watch face, such as Jura, Patria, Helvetia and Labrador.
