The author relates his experiences from an early age, growing up in Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, and the profound impressions it left with him. A keen sense of adventure and interest in his bushveld surroundings, provided the natural backdrop for his observations and love of the environment which includes wildlife, geology, rock climbing and especially archaeology - Stone Age, San Rock art and Iron Age cultures.
