This book describes a new way of thinking about media, technology, and civilization. We propose building a new civilization on the broken pieces of the old, one built entirely from trash and in equilibrium with the ecosystem we live in. This book documents a social network based on web servers we carry around with us from place to place, networking out in the physical world. The network also contains a version of the book itself, on self-replicating code which installs itself on new servers as they are built. Each book tells you how to make more servers which copy the book and so on. It is an open book, released into the Public Domain to be shared, replicated, and edited by anyone any time anywhere.

Biographie:
Trash Robot is a decentralized swarm. It is a self-replicating set, as described in the book. As primary author, I am an element of this self-replicating set, but as other people replicate all the media documented here they also become elements of the set, and the whole set replicates, including authors, books, servers, and all the physical media documented here. I am Trash Robot, and so can you be.
