Résumé : Jake is a young seven-year-old boy who is having a difficult time to read at his grade level. After further investigation, he finds out that he has dyslexia. He tries to understand what dyslexia is and how to go about it with the help of others who love and support him. This story is for all children who have or are facing a similar situation like Jake's. The story helps children identify themselves with Jake. It shows that with hard work, children who are struggling in school or other settings can work around this disability called 'dyslexia'.
Biographie:
Shelly M. Patel is a new children's book author. A clinical scientist and director of local kids Sunday school based out of Virginia, Shelly loves to engage children in thinking deeper and being more aware of their surroundings. She emphasizes on teaching children how to face life's many adversities while maintaining a positive attitude. Jake has Dyslexia highlights her sons' personal journey with the challenges it accompanies in academia along with millions just like him. Mother of three kids, her focus has always been to ensure her children have the best attitude, love and compassion towards life and others. The mantra of motherhood is teaching kids to a be good and kind human being. Currently, she has completed writing her second book....
